Michèle Desonai studied psychological and pedagogical sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, graduating with distinction in 1978. In 1979, also at ULB, she qualified to teach senior pupils in secondary schools. She has worked as a psychotherapist since 1982. After further study she became a Jungian psychoanalyst, in 1995. She trained as a teacher of the Alexander Technique, receiving her diploma in 1988.
In addition to her activities as an Alexander teacher, she continues to work as a psychotherapist. She is also an assistant at ULB, and teaches regularly at the Ecole Belge de Pratique Psychomotrice Aucouturier. She has lectured and written papers on "The maturation process in young children", and on "Ethics in psychoanalysis".
Desonai sees the study and teaching of the Alexander Technique as an important aspect of
her long-standing interest in the development of the whole person.
